NRM COMMUNITY GRANT

Friends of Innamincka made an application for a State Natural Resources Management Grant in 2012. We were very fortunate to receive a grant of $3,370 to enable us to undertake a serious programme of weed eradication, namely, Buffel Grass. At first we had considered confining our efforts to one area, but this notorious weed has been found in several areas around Innamincka. We are anxious to attack the Buffel Grass at the time that will offer maximum effect, so it will have to extraneous to our annual working bee. We envisage a “strike” force that can get to Innamincka at short notice and focus just on poisoning this tough weed.
